Savanna Velthoven – Social Media Manager

Savanna is our social media manager, bringing fun stories and updates to you each week via Facebook and Instagram. In this role she helps coordinate, plan and manage how we spread information on our social media channels. Savanna has a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Harding University and a background in high school education. She’s been connected to Kibo since joining a Kibo fellowship program with Harding students in 2017. She currently lives in Michigan with her husband and two fur babies and serves as a full-time wedding photographer in the Detroit area.

Why Savanna loves Kibo: “Since my first visit to Uganda, I’ve known how authentic and influential Kibo’s is for real people in every day life. I think once you meet the people Kibo is truly helping, it makes the work of Kibo so much more impactful. I love that Kibo values relationships over status, and that the goal is to help people in the long run, not just in the short term for accolades or numbers.”
