Danette Cagnet – Board President

Danette (Danny) is a Senior Lecturer of Management and I-Core Program Coordinator at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in Indianapolis. She completed her EdD in Organizational Leadership with emphasis in Conflict Management and Resolution from Abilene Christian University in 2022, where she studied Kibo’s community-led total sanitation program and the maintenance of sanitation behaviors. Danny lived in Jinja in the early 2000’s and helped found Kibo Group, so she greatly enjoys leading student and visitor trips to Uganda to experience Kibo's work. Danny and her husband Scott (Dean of Students at Anderson University) have two daughters, Kendall and Keeton. In her spare time, she loves to paint with watercolors, bake, watch documentaries and read.

What Danny loves about Kibo: “I love our team and the work they do. Not only do I love the work they do, I love the way they do it. There is such compassion, understanding, and kindness as they walk alongside their fellow Ugandans to make changes. Change is not always easy, and not every organization treats it with the same kindness and respect. I love watching our team love what they do and throw themselves into it with their whole heart. It is inspiring to watch them be the hands, feet and mouths of Jesus!”
